The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed with free-agent reliever Tyler Clippard on a two-year contract worth $12.25 million, FoxSports.com reported Monday, citing sources.
The deal includes a base salary of $4.1 million in 2016, $4.15 million in 2017 and a signing bonus of $4 million.
Clippard, who turns 31 later this week, went 5-4 with a 2.92 ERA and 19 saves last season with the Oakland Athletics and the New York Mets. The two-time All-Star joins an Arizona bullpen that features closer Brad Ziegler, who had a career-high 30 saves last season, and converted starter Daniel Hudson, who posted a 3.
