Remainder of series between Mets and Braves postponed

The inevitable has happened, as the second game of a crucial series between the Mets and Braves has officially been rained out. With even more rain on the way in Atlanta tomorrow thanks to Hurricane Helene, the final game of series has been be postponed, too.

The plan—at least for now—is that the Mets and Braves will play a doubleheader on Monday, a ridiculously cumbersome obligation that could have and should have been avoided given the blatantly obvious forecast that showed outdoor baseball wouldn’t be possible in Atlanta for both of these games.

Major League Baseball chose not to intervene in the scheduling nightmare that’s been created by the postponed games, as Joel Sherman reported.
