Relatives of fallen NYPD, EMS heroes throw first pitch at Mets opener

The kids of late NYPD Det. Steven McDonald and u200brecently u200bslain FDNY EMT Yadira Arroyo threw out the ceremonial first pitches at Opening Day at Citi Field on Monday.

Mets fans gave rousing cheers to NYPD Sgt. Conor McDonald, 29, and Jose, Kenneth, Justin and Isaiah Arroyo as they all threw the ball once, ahead of the Mets seau200bu200bson opener against the Atlanta Braves.

McDonald died in January after he was shot on the job and paralyzed in 1986.
