NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Things got a little wild in the Mets’ clubhouse before Sunday’s game against the Dodgers.
A raccoon was on the loose in the team’s weight room at Citi Field. Pitcher Bobby Parnell told ESPN New York it appeared to be a baby raccoon and it ran into a cage.
When asked about the fact that the stadium crew had a cage on hand, Parnell told ESPN, “I guess they have a problem.”
CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman tweeted that the Mets announced the raccoon had been captured and released into the wild.
