Jose Quintana was great, and Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo combined to drive in six runs as the Mets won their series opener over the Nationals by a 7-5 score.
Lindor got the Mets on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the second, and Nimmo came up next and hit a fly ball to left field that just kept carrying until it wound up being a three-run home run. And in the sixth, Lindor hit a two-run home run to put the Mets up 6-0.
Quintana threw seven scoreless innings, struck out five, walked one, and gave up just one hit on 103 pitches.
