Queens boy receives signed jersey after Topps nixes order

He’s batting a thousand.

The young Queens boy who almost didn’t get the Daniel Murphy-autographed bat he ordered for his birthday now has another present: a jersey signed by slugger Mike Trout.

A New Jersey family was so moved by Will Smith’s story in the Daily News, they decided to give the Long Island City baseball fan their beloved jersey — along with a $500 check made out to the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

Kristen Grimley said she was impressed with Will’s grit and grace in his battle with Topps, a sports collectibles company, and told her father they should find a way to honor the 11-year-old Queens kid.
