The New York Mets’ unexpected postseason run could make it easier for co-owners Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz to finally banish their Bernie Madoff blues.
If the team makes it past the Cubs and into the World Series, the Mets franchise could be looking at about $45 million in added revenue, a source with direct knowledge of team financials said.
That figure includes about $25 million in revenue from an expected 500,000 rise in 2016 attendance.
Roughly $20 million will come from tickets sales to a minimum of six postseason home games — at least two each in the Division Series, League Championship Series and the World Series.
