MIAMI -- Pete Alonso launched a three-run homer that tied the score with two outs in the eighth inning and the New York Mets scored twice in the 11th to beat the Miami Marlins 6-5 on Wednesday.
Alonso also doubled twice and finished with four RBIs. All three of his hits came off the bat at 113 mph or more, making him the sixth player in the Statcast era (since 2015) to have three hits with an exit velocity of at least 113 mph in one game.
Alonso's homer ended a nine-pitch at-bat against Calvin Faucher.
