Pete Alonso is going to Arlington next week not just as an All-Star, but as a participant in the Home Run Derby. Alonso has participated in every Derby since 2019, excluding 2020, when there was not one due to the shortened, Covid-19 effected season, and won the first two he participated in.
With a third victory, Alonso would tie Ken Griffey Jr. for the all-time record of three victories in the Home Run Derby.
Alonso, who has 18 home runs thus far in 2024, has the most home runs in baseball since his 2019 debut with 210.
