It wasn’t on the same level with the smackdown he laid on Don Zimmer during his mayhem-inducing prime, but Pedro Martinez issued a rebuke to the Mets on Tuesday in their ongoing dispute over ace Matt Harvey’s innings limit.
In a series of tweets, the opinionated Hall of Fame right-hander, now an analyst for MLB Network, took on Mets management and urged caution in handling Harvey’s workload down the stretch.
“The Mets have to monitor how many stressful innings Harvey has been having and keep him to under 5 innings no matter what the situation is,” Martinez wrote.
