The Mets’ managerial search is nearing its conclusion, but another known candidate has emerged.
Pat Murphy, the Brewers bench coach, has interviewed twice with team officials, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed. Murphy, 60, served as the Padres’ interim manager in 2015. He has spent the past four years with the Brewers, who reached the postseason in 2018 and ’19 under the guidance of manager Craig Counsell.
Tim Bogar, Eduardo Perez, Carlos Beltran and Derek Shelton are the other known candidates who have received callback interviews. The Mets could be in position to name Mickey Callaway’s replacement as soon as Monday – a scheduled travel day in the World Series.
