Of all the moves Sandy Alderson made close to the deadline, the most important may have been bringing in Tyler Clippard for the bullpen. The Mets say talks for Clippard began before the Mejia suspension news came down, but in any event, Clippard has been a lifesaver and not just because Mejia is out, but because we just can't trust Bobby Parnell.
He has been OK this season, and had five scoreless outings before Friday night's mess. There was also the awful blown save in DC a few weeks ago, but remember the guy is coming off Tommy John surgery and really, there aren't many other options.
