Options on Yo, Bruce could factor into a qualifying offer to Walker

MLB announced that the qualifying offer will be $17.2 million this offseason.

Teams have until five days after the World Series ends to extend the offer to players that qualify.

The Mets will need to decide whether to make the one-year, $17.2 million offer to Neil Walker, as well as Yoenis Cespedes (if he opts out of his contract within his three-day window after the World Series).

The player then has seven days to accept or reject the offer.

If accepted, he will earn $17.2 million the next year, after which he's again eligible for free agency.
