Opening Rants

I have a little bit of a pattern with home openers. Attend one, miss one. More or less. I don’t mean for it to happen, it just kinda turns out that way. I had actually been to the last two, so missing 2015’s home opener seemed inevitable. And in more than a few ways, I’m glad I missed this one. Between the tons of standing room only tickets sold so the Mets can brag about an attendance record, the new metal detectors keeping that record crowd out of the place until the pre-game announcements were over (which is the whole reason standing room only tickets were $100 on Stub Hub), and the long lines for the bathrooms as though this was a 100-year old ballpark, this seemed like a good one to miss.
