Open Thread: 2019 MLB Home Run Derby

For the first time since David Wright participated at Citi Field in 2013, the New York Mets will be represented in the Home Run Derby. Pete Alonso, who entered the break with the second-most home runs in Major League Baseball with 30, will begin tonight’s derby at Progressive Field in Cleveland as the number two seed. Alonso will face off against Cleveland Indians’ first baseman Carlos Santana.

Along with Alonso and Santana, Matt Chapman, Josh Bell, Alex Bregman, Joc Pederson, Ronald Acuna Jr.
