Only one way the Mets can put 2007 in the rearview mirror

If we were talking about another team with another recent history, then these last two nights at Citi Field would be viewed precisely as they should be viewed: as the inevitable flip side to eight consecutive days when the Mets withdrew their daily limit of emotion and intensity.

Another team with another recent history, these back-to-back losses to the Marlins — show of hands: who’s happy to be done with the Marlins? — would be accompanied with reason and logic. A week has melted off the calendar since the Mets’ epic sweep in Washington, and they’ve actually GAINED a half-game on the Nats.
