The World Series has ignited a Bonfire of the Vanities between bookworms in New York and Kansas City.
The Kansas City Public Library lit the match before Game 1, starting a war of words with a contentious tweet.
“Well look what we found on the shelf…@QueensLibrary @nypl #TakeTheCrown #World Series,” they wrote with a photo of the book “Worst Team Money Could Buy: The Collapse of the New York Mets.”
Shortly after, The Queens Library fired back.
“Oh it’s on now @KCLibrary! #RoyalPain #WorldSeries #YaGottaBelieve #LGM,” along with a photo of Mr. Met and a book about fighting words.
