The Mets are on an incredible roll right now, and the roll continued today with a fairly easy 4-0 win against the Reds this evening at Citi Field. The game commenced after a 65 minute rain delay, but was a quick, two hour, twenty six minute affair that saw both teams take a few innings to get their bats warmed up.
Entering this series, the Reds’ pitching staff was in such disarray that they didn’t even announce who was starting either games two or three of this series ahead of Friday morning. Jakob Junis, who hasn’t started since April 2, and who has been a good, if unspectacular, reliever for the Reds since they acquired him in July, wound up starting for Cincinnati on Saturday.
