Jay Bruce might be a right fielder or a first baseman, at the tail end of a bad season or the onset of a precipitous decline, a Met next year or not.
“I don’t think anything is written in stone,” Bruce told The Post after a scrum with reporters at Citi Field broke up Friday.
He was back from two-plus months on the disabled list, playing right field against the Nationals, batting fifth. He is on a salvage job now, trying to make the best of his worst season of health and performance.
