MIAMI — Noah Syndergaard will get the ball Tuesday night and then wait and see.
The Mets ace, who was skipped Saturday because of a strep throat infection, is healthy according to manager Terry Collins and ready to face the Marlins. Ideally for the Mets, it would be Syndergaard’s last regular-season start. But that will only hold true if Sunday’s game in Philadelphia is meaningless for the Mets, allowing Collins to hold Syndergaard for the NL wild-card game three days later on Oct. 3.
Collins was asked Monday, before the Mets lost 7-3 to Miami, if Syndergaard would pitch should the Mets have a wild card wrapped up but not home-field advantage for the game.
