SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Virtually every starting pitcher with the New York Mets is coming off surgery, but Noah Syndergaard is an exception.
Despite team officials acknowledging a bone spur in Syndergaard's pitching elbow this past summer, team doctors determined the ace did not need to have it removed -- even after the season.
General manager Sandy Alderson expressed confidence Tuesday that the issue is really a non-issue and predicted it will not become a topic for discussion again in 2017.
"I think this one is so insignificant in the eyes of the physicians," Alderson said.
