The image of the Royals finishing off their World Series run at Citi Field on Sunday hasn’t left Noah Syndergaard’s mind.
“Losing that game and watching them celebrate on the field like that was heartbreaking,” the Mets right-hander said Thursday. “It definitely left a hunger in everyone’s mind and in their hearts to get back there next year and win the whole thing.”
To have a chance to get back to the Fall Classic and win the team’s first title in 30 years, Syndergaard and the rest of the starting rotation will have to lead the way.
