Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard allowed two runs in five innings and helped himself out at the plate with a double and two RBI in the Mets' series opener against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night at Citi Field.
Syndergaard hit an RBI double in the second inning to drive in Devin Mesoraco, giving the Mets a 1-0 lead. He then plated Jay Bruce with a sacrifice fly during the Mets' five-run fourth inning.
On the mound, Syndergaard labored at times and finished the night having thrown 103 pitches, but limited the damage after allowing two runs in the second inning.
