Mets top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard had an uneven 2015 debut with Triple-A Las Vegas, striking out two and allowing seven hits, one walk and three runs (two earned) in four innings as the 51s beat Sacramento, 8-5.
Syndergaard, whose start was delayed by forearm tightness, threw 54 pitches, 37 for strikes. He was on a 60-pitch limit, but made the most of it, getting eight groundball outs, two leading to double plays.
Travis Ishikawa singled with two outs in the first and advanced to second on an error by centerfielder Kyle Johnson. Adam Duvall drove home Ishikawa to give Sacramento a 1-0 lead.
