When one Mets outfielder returns, another takes off.
Brandon Nimmo exited Sunday’s game against the Marlins following a strikeout to end the bottom of the eighth inning. The Mets say he left with right shoulder discomfort, according to Mike Puma.
He was 1-for-3 with a solo home run that broke the 1-1 tie in the sixth on Sunday. Nimmo also dove for a catch in left field in the top of the seventh, though he didn’t appear to suffer any injury as a result.
Despite early-career injuries limiting him to only one 100+ game season in his first five full years in the Majors, Nimmo has remained healthy as of late, playing in over 150 games and registering over 670 plate appearances in each of his last two seasons.
