Rookie OF Brandon Nimmo drove in his first major league RBI and scored the winning run in the New York Mets' 4-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday at Citi Field.
In a nine-pitch at-bat against Chicago's Joel Peralta, Nimmo drove in Travis d'Arnaud with an RBI single to center that brought the Mets within run at 3-2, and advanced to second base on the ensuing throw.
"That's a big league at-bat for the kid," Neil Walker said. "Those are the at-bats that give you confidence, especially as a young guy.
