In the case of the New York Mets, it could always be worse. The losses and injuries are piling up by the day—and now you can add Steven Matz to that list.
Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News is reporting that Matz will miss his scheduled start on Thursday due to a blister on his finger. He is now scheduled to start on Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
Jason Vargas will make the start in place of Matz. He brings a 7.71 ERA to Arizona. Not exactly the guy you want on the mound when you’re in desperate need for a win.
