Bullpen help is one of the keys to success for the New York Mets going forward. With reliever Robert Gsellman most likely out for the rest of the year with a partially torn lat, the Mets need additional assistance in improving a pen that’s 26th in the majors with a combined 5.07 ERA.
Enter Nick Rumbelow, the former New York Yankees pitcher. Per the New York Post, the Mets signed the right-handed reliever this week. They ultimately assigned him to Triple-A Syracuse.
The Bombers drafted Rumbelow, 27, in the seventh round of the 2013 MLB Draft.
