New York Mets send Robinson Cano back to the 10-day IL

The New York Mets have been forced to adapt to losing some key players to injury, and their issues continue into June.

Robinson Cano, who returned from a quad injury Thursday and was removed halfway through the game, was placed on the injured list prior to the Mets victory over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon, the team announced on Twitter.

Robinson Canó has been placed on the 10-day IL (left quad tightness), retroactive to June 6. We’ve selected the contract of RHP Tim Peterson from Triple-A Syracuse. #Mets pic.
