The New York Mets are still hanging onto 2019 playoff hopes, but a recent freefall has a Wild Card berth in serious doubt. As a result, the Mets are beginning to retool the scouting department.
As part of their internal shakeup, have learned the Mets will not be retaining Ruben Amaro Jr., a special assistant to the GM and previous 1B coach.
Mets are also dismissing Pro Scouting Director Jim D'Aloia, and at least three other scouts (as noted by @martinonyc).
