On Sunday, the New York Mets announced that they placed right-handed reliever Robert Gsellman on the 10-day injured list. Gsellman had been dealing with tricep soreness. The placement was retroactive to Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Now, Andy Martino of SNY is reporting that Gsellman is likely to be shut down for the remainder of the season with a partial lat tear.
Source: Robert Gsellman has a partial lat tear. Timetable tbd, but given the timing it's hard to see how he pitches again this season. Mets down a reliever.
