New York Mets offense solid in first series versus Philadelphia Phillies

The series opened on a rainy Tuesday night at Citi Field. The New York Mets were held to two runs, but they proved to be enough to take the game from the Philadelphia Phillies.

It was a pitchers duel between Matt Harvey and Ben Lively for the first couple of innings, making it feel as if the first team to score was going to win the game.

Both teams were blanked until the sixth inning when the Mets made the first move.

Yoenis Cespedes was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a groundout by Jay Bruce.
