One of the reasons why the New York Mets are hovering around a spot for the National League Wild Card is due to the number of power hitters they have in the lineup. One of which is veteran outfielder Michael Conforto.
The 2017 All-Star hit his 30th home run of the season in an 11-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Thursday. He’s proved to be one of the better bats for the Mets. And, when asked about the possibility of a long-term deal in New York, Conforto said he’d be open to it.
“I think that is always on players’ minds, they want to have that security and I know I am going to be under their control for the next two years so it’s kind of something that during the season, it’s not something I really want to talk about,” Conforto said this week, per Mike Puma of the New York Post.
