Sorry New York Mets fans—Bryce Harper is still going to kill your team. The Flushing franchise and its fanbase were hoping Harper would leave the National League East. But that’s not the case.
Harper signed a 13-year deal worth $330 million with the Philadelphia Phillies and thus, he’ll torment the Mets for another 13 years. According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the Mets are not happy that Harper is staying in the division.
“Privately, Mets players and officials had been rooting for Harper to pick the Giants or Dodgers as his destination,” writes Puma.
