On Tuesday, the attorney general of the Dominican Republic, Jean Alain Rodriguez, announced that multiple ex-MLB players were arrested on drug trafficking charges. Arrests include former New York Mets second baseman Luis Castillo and right-handed pitcher Octavio Dotel.
Castillo played for the Mets from 2007-10. He’s a three-time All-Star, having made the Midsummer Classic in 2002, 2003, and 2005. Each All-Star selection was during his 10-year tenure with the Florida Marlins.
Castillo also played 85 games for the Minnesota Twins in 2007 prior to being traded to New York.
His best season with the Mets was in 2009 when he posted a slash line of .
