The heat is on for Mickey Callaway. The New York Mets have struggled to maintain consistency of late and that could prove to be Callaway’s downfall.
According to multiple reports, Callaway is on the hot seat entering Sunday. According to Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports, Joel Sherman of the New York Post, and Mike Puma of the Post, Callaway could be fired as early as Monday.
“A club source indicated Wilpon wasn’t planning to be in South Florida on Sunday, and it’s unlikely the first-year GM [Brodie] Van Wagenen would be left to make a managerial change without Wilpon present,” wrote Puma.
