One of the unsung heroes of the New York Mets in this up-and-down season has been their shortstop Amed Rosario. Originally in the bottom part of the order, Rosario has worked his way into the two-hole in the lineup. He’s even batted leadoff in place of the injured Jeff McNeil.
Mets manager Mickey Callaway ultimately asked Rosario to play left field towards the end of an 11-5 win over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday. This is due to the fact that the team had J.D. Davis pinch hit for Aaron Altherr.
