The New York Mets announced in the last few hours that Brian Schneider will be the team’s quality control coach in 2020. The move fills out their coaching staff, and as Anthony DiComo of MLB.com notes, they are doing it with a familiar face.
Schneider, not too long ago, was appointed as the Syracuse Mets’ manager. However, since Carlos Beltran and the team parted ways and the Mets promoted Luis Rojas from the quality control coach to the skipper spot, they needed someone who fills in for the newly-appointed leader.
Schneider played for 13 seasons in Major League Baseball as a catcher.
