Late last month, the New York Mets finally concluded their managerial search by hiring Carlos Beltrán. Having played for the Mets from 2005-11, Beltrán is a veteran of the culture that Queens baseball provides.
However, not everyone is a fan of the hire.
Beltrán has never managed before and will have the task of leading an organization, one that finished 86-76 last year, into the postseason. It’s a tough task, but Beltrán definitely has the support from outside individuals.
One of these voices includes former New York Yankees manager Joe Torre, who gave Carlos some humbling advice last week.
