Heading into this offseason, the New York Mets’ top priority is to find a new manager. The organization decided to part ways with Mickey Callaway earlier this month after two seasons and zero playoff appearances.
Candidates for the job include Joe Girardi, Eduardo Pérez, Carlos Beltrán and Tim Bogar. Each has reportedly received second-round interviews with the organization. However, there may be a fifth candidate. According to Andy Martino of SNY, this could be a ‘bombshell candidate’ if the other options fall through.
One person connected to team has said a “bombshell candidate” is in the mix if a clear favorite does not emerge from the current group.
