Former New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson is cancer-free.
Alderson, 71, served as the Metropolitans executive personnel boss from 2012 through last season until he stepped down after his once treated cancer had returned.
Now, the comforting announcement has been made that the longtime baseball man is completely cancer-free, via Dan Martin of the New York Post.
“My health is great,” Alderson said. “Since I took a leave of absence from the Mets last summer, I’ve had chemo and surgery — my third surgery — but at this point, based on the medical definition, I’m cancer-free and have been for four months.
