The New York Mets all-time leader in postseason hits is now lending his knowledge to the future of the organization.
As announced Thursday on the team’s official Twitter account, Edgardo Alfonzo was named the manager of the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Mets’ Single-A minor league affiliate.
Alfonzo hooked on with the Brooklyn Cyclones as an infield coach in 2014, a position he has held until yesterday’s promotion.
Edgardo Alfonzo was an integral part of the 2000 Mets World Series team. His clutch hitting in the playoffs earned him a special place in the hearts of fans everywhere.
