This past summer, there were a lot of talks that the New York Mets could’ve dealt Noah Syndergaard prior to the trade deadline.
He was in his second year of arbitration, as there was a possibility the Mets could’ve traded him for futuristic assets. Not to mention, Syndergaard’s struggles in 2019 were definitely existent. He finished with a 4.28 ERA and a 1.234 WHIP through 32 starts.
However, the July 31 deadline came and went, with Thor remaining in Queens. So will the Mets now deal him prior to the 2020 campaign? Turns out that won’t be the case either, per general manager Brodie Van Wagenen.
