The New York Mets bullpen has been nothing short of an unmitigated disaster this season. One of the main culprits was one of general manager Brodie Van Wagenen‘s main offseason additions—Edwin Diaz.
The Mets thought Diaz would come into Flushing and solidify the backend of the bullpen. It’s been quite the opposite. Diaz’s ERA has ballooned to 5.76 after a dreadful four-run performance on Friday. In his last eight games, Diaz has a 15.26 ERA and the Mets are considering changing things up.
“We talk about all kinds of things internally all the time,’’ manager Mickey Callaway said via Wallace Matthews of Yahoo Sports.
