Oh, the memories …
No. 5 and No. 7, David Wright and Jose Reyes, the young positional guns for a franchise that’s usually starving for positional studs, are finally nearing the end of a beautiful relationship.
On Tuesday, the New York Mets activated captain David Wright. It serves as the first step of his “retirement” tour for the remainder of the 2018 MLB season.
Fortunately—as it pertains this narrative—Reyes is still a Met after such a disastrous season. This means the duo that provided so many memories at the top and in the middle of the Mets lineup will be saying goodbye simultaneously (as it’s almost a foregone conclusion Reyes will not be back next season).
