New York Mets blasted 25-4 by Nats, suffer worst loss in franchise history (Highlights)

Twenty-five to 4. This was the embarrassing score on Tuesday night in our Nation’s Capital. It’s also now the score of the most lopsided loss in New York Mets history.

It was all Washington Nationals from the jump, scoring seven runs in the first inning off lefty Steven Matz. D.C. then tallied three runs in each of the next four innings prior to capping it off with a cool six runs in the eighth for the tidy victory.

Matz could only get two outs in the first prior to his trip to the showers. Jacob Rhame, Tim Peterson, Tyler Bashor and Jose Reyes (yes, Jose Reyes) also helped contribute to those 25 runs.
