On Tuesday, the New York Mets announced a big move they’ll be making next season. The organization will ultimately be retiring Jerry Koosman‘s No. 36 jersey.
Koosman, 76, was a left-handed pitcher who played for the Mets from 1967-78. He was a part of that 1969 World Series team and was a two-time All-Star. Koosman was selected to the Midsummer Classic in both 1968 and 1969. He’s also been inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame.
Those two seasons in which he was selected as an All-Star were obviously two of his top campaigns.
