After hurling seven shutout innings of three-hit baseball on May 14, Anthony Kay was even better on Monday.
The New York Mets‘ No. 7 overall prospect threw seven no-hit innings for Double-A Binghamton against the Bowie Baysox. He walked just one and struck out seven in the win.
Kay has allowed a total of six earned runs over his nine starts for the Rumble Ponies in 2019 (50.2 IP). This translates to a microscopic 1.07 ERA.
The Stony Brook native was perfect through five innings on Monday night. The only baserunner of the game for the Baysox came when third baseman Jesmuel Valentin drew a walk to lead off the sixth.
