What an amazing year thus far for New York Mets rookie first baseman Pete Alonso. More specifically, what an amazing past couple of days in Cleveland, Ohio.
On Monday, Alonso took home the Home Run Derby crown, ousting Toronto Blue Jays rookie Vladamir Guerrero Jr. in the final round. Then, on Tuesday, Alonso went 1-for-2 in the All-Star Game. This included a two-RBI single in the top of the eighth inning to cut the American League lead to 4-3.
Despite the American League eventually winning 4-3 for their seventh-straight All-Star Game victory, Alonso still views the whole experience as unforgettable.
