Pete Alonso accomplished something that has never been done in franchise history. The rookie passed Carlos Beltran and Todd Hundley for the most home runs in a single season in New York Mets history.
It was a 92-mph fastball from Yu Darvish during the bottom of the fourth inning that Alonso smacked 407 feet to right field for his record-breaking 42nd home run of the season.
